
Photography is one of the mediums that lure many new artists due to it's relative ease of expression. With today's modern cameras, the knowledge of exposure values, aperture settings and focal lengths are not as essential as they were in the times of Ansel Adams. Just pick up the camera, point and shoot. What could be easier? And yet new artists soon discover that creating a captivating image is far more involved than simply creating a photograph with proper exposure and white balance.
All mediums require a keen sense of composition, contrast, tension and color harmony and photography is no exception. Truly captivating photographs go far beyond proper focus and exposure. As in all media, they require a sense of emotion, a feeling that transcends the time and place.
